Share Your Memories: Organizing Your Photos

admin

I’ve had to sort through my photos more often in the past 6 months than ever before. Because of my age, I’ve crossed from physical film photos to digital photos & it’s hard to keep them all straight. So I’m beginning to sort my photos, get each event gathered together, and get the photos in chronological order so next time there’s a birthday party for a friend or family member it’s much easier to gather all the photos I need to add to the decor in a jiffy!

The question is, do you print out the digital photos or do you scan in all the hardcopies of photographs?

Well, I’m doing a combination of both. To keep myself organized I’m working with my digital photos first. I’m making sure they’re all backed up first, then going through oldest to most recent photos to delete the duplicates, blurry photos & the ones I don’t recognize or have no significant meaning. After sorting through all digital photos, I’m sorting through the hardcopies of all my physical photos to discard the blurry photos or ones that may have gotten wet or smeared then arranging the physical photos in chronological order then scanning. After all my hardcopies of photos are scanned (especially the photos I want to share with friends & family) I’m arranging them in matching photo albums in the same chronological order to create a tidy aesthetic on my bookshelves.
